About Tire Town Team · Est. 1987 · Dayton, OH
A family-owned tire shop from Dayton that grew into 47 stores across the Midwest.
Started by Bill and Marcy Holcomb Sr. in a one-bay garage in 1987. Now led by their daughter Marcy Holcomb and 612 teammates. Same crew. Same handshake. Same rock-solid warranty.
Chapter 01 — The Garage
1987. One bay in Dayton. The handshake that started it all.
The First Bay
Bill and Marcy Holcomb Sr. opened the original Tire Town on Industrial Boulevard in the spring of 1987 with a single lift, a borrowed tire changer, and a policy printed on a hand-lettered sign above the register: Mount it right, charge a fair dollar, and look the customer in the eye. For the first three years, Bill rotated tires in the morning and Marcy ran the books at night on a kitchen-table ledger.
From day one, the bay stayed open until the last car was done — not until the clock said so.
One Store to Forty-Seven
Word moved the way it does in the Midwest — neighbor to neighbor, farmer to farmer, dispatcher to dispatcher. By 1996 there were four Tire Town stores across the Miami Valley. By 2005, twelve across Ohio and Indiana. Today the chain spans forty-seven locations across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri — but every store still flies the same Holcomb handshake on the wall.
We grew by opening stores where our customers already lived — not by buying ads in markets we didn't understand.
A note from the founders
"We started this shop because we got tired of being treated like a ticket number."
Every chain we drove past on the way home from work in 1986 had the same problem — somebody behind the counter who couldn't tell you the brand of tire on your own car, much less why it mattered. We figured if we opened the bay doors, did the work ourselves, and let the work speak for itself, we'd earn the kind of customer who comes back for thirty years.
That customer showed up. Then she brought her sister. Then her brother-in-law's plumbing company. Then a school district with twelve vans. Now we're forty-seven stores deep and the kid who swept the bay in '89 is our regional service manager.
Same crew. Same handshake. Same warranty. That's the only promise we ever made.

The Crew
612 teammates. 188 ASE-certified master technicians. One payroll.
These are the hands that mount, balance, and torque every tire that leaves a Tire Town bay. Not marketing models — mechanics, lube techs, alignment specialists, and the front-office team who actually picks up the phone.
Leadership Today
Marcy Holcomb, second-generation CEO, is running the same shop her parents opened in 1987.
Marcy grew up sweeping the original Industrial Boulevard bay. She took over as CEO in 2014 and has spent the last decade modernizing the operation without breaking the handshake her parents built it on: same-day installs on 95% of in-stock tire sizes, the 30-minute-or-free guarantee, lifetime free rotations, and the road-hazard warranty that follows the customer nationwide to 4,200+ partner shops.
She didn't rebrand the wordmark. She didn't change the warranty. She hired 312 new teammates, opened nine new stores, and launched FleetPro, the commercial program that now manages 1,850+ registered business accounts with NET-30 billing.

"My parents taught me that a tire shop is just a bunch of people who show up for each other every morning. We hire for that. We promote for that. The 47 stores, the 612 teammates, the warranty, the 235,000 five-star reviews — none of it works if the crew doesn't show up for the customer the same way my dad showed up for the first one in 1987."
